MICHAEL A. REYNA

Michael A. Reyna, age 33, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Michael A. Reyna made his grand entrance on June 22, 1988, to Michael A. and Susan Reyna at Waupun Hospital. He was immediately loved by his family and his three sisters. He grew up with a love for sports and flair for the dramatic. Everything Michael did, he did with passion. Michael enjoyed singing and acting throughout his school years and carried his love for music and cinema into his adult life. He worked at Ted’s Piggly Wiggly through school and beyond, and later for Amazon as a delivery driver, befriending everyone he encountered along the way. After his 2006 graduation, Michael enjoyed playing softball, darts, pool, bowling, and anything that brought his friends and family together, especially the annual Kiwanis Show, where he entertained the masses. Michael loved being around people, especially his friends and family. He was always there for anyone who needed good advice or one of his famous hugs. Michael was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and developed a strong relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Michael is survived by his fiancé, Ashley Cutsforth and her daughter, Lilyian; parents, Michael A. and Susan Reyna; sisters, Miranda A. Reyna, Marissa A. (Jeff) Frausto, and Maree A. (Tommy) Pecaro; nieces and nephews, Aaliyah, Angelena, Jamison, Maya, Arianna, and Scarlett. Michael is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and friends. Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mario A. and Maria Reyna; maternal grandparents, Robert “Chub” and Betty Dolgner; aunt, Melinda A. Reyna; and other relatives. A memorial gathering for Michael will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Salemville), N483 County Road M, Cambria, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m.

HARLAN MARSH

Harlan Kay Marsh, of Marquette, Wis., passed away surrounded by his family at his home on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the age of 83 following a brief but valiant fight with lung cancer. He was born on November 11, 1937 in Eagle Bend, Minn. to Arlie and Nellie (Pierce).  They moved to the Dalton area, where he met Donna Jacobson in Portage, Wis. in 1955. He was driving with another couple, and they stopped to pick Donna up while she was walking home. The rest is history. Donna was immediately taken by his black, Elvis style hair, and they married on January 14, 1956, when Harlan was 18 and Donna was 16. After moving around a few times, they settled in the Dalton area, where they raised four children.  Harlan worked for Fred Rueping Leather in Fond du Lac for 17 years, then took great pride in owning Marsh’s Texaco (now the Wayside Amaco) as well as working as a crane operator for Glover Metal Building Erectors for more than 30 years. After the kids left the nest, Harlan and Donna moved to Marquette. Never one to be still, Harlan took to driving the Amish in his retirement.He will be remembered for his quick wit, skilled card playing, and for being a dedicated member of the Kingston Lions Club for over 58 years. You always knew where you stood with Harlan, as he didn’t mince words and didn’t hesitate to share his strong opinions.  Harlan was preceded in death by his mother and father and his seven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna, his children Tammy and David Grender, Sandy (Rich Boldt) Messer, Randy and Julie Marsh, and Julie and Eric Lemon; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He will be missed deeply by his family and many friends. A visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. and a service at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston, followed by a luncheon at the Legion Hall in Kingston.

DOLORES SIEWERT

Dolores M. Siewert, age 92, of Dalton, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Dolores was born April 25th, 1929 in Marquette, Wisconsin to Harvey and Marie Holvenstot. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marquette. Dolores attended Markesan High School. Dolores married Emery Siewert on June 23, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston, and she was blessed with two children. Dolores worked full time on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, and sewing. Dolores was a caregiver for her parents and husband before they passed. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she cherished spending time with her family. Dolores was very dedicated to her family and enjoyed visits from them. Dolores is survived by her sons, Richard (Nola) Siewert of Dalton, WI; Robert Siewert of Ellsworth, WI; grandchildren, Teresa (Brian) Wiersma, Amy (Billy John) Glover, Erin Witthun, Samantha (Danny) Leonard, Maxwell Siewert; great-grandchildren, Austin, Brianna, Ashtyn Wiersma, Alex (McKenna), Allen and Megan Glover, Emerson Witthun, Jacob and Grace Leonard; two nieces, JoAnn (Don) Wingers, Carol (Ray) Briones; one nephew, Neil Siewert and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Harvey Holvenstot; her husband, Emery; grandson, Zachary Siewert, daughter- in- law, Jill Siewert; brother Glenn (Ruth) Holvenstot; sister in-law, Echolone (Henry) Siewert. Our mom touched the lives of her family with her loving and protective demeanor.  Her Christian faith has sustained her and gave her strength throughout her life. A funeral is planned for Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston, WI with Rev. Kurt Hagen officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Dalton, WI. Her family would like to thank the staff at Waupun Memorial Hospital, Marshfield Medical Center - Beaver Dam and Dr. Joel Miller in Beaver Dam for his care. A memorial has been established in her name.

JON LUECK

Jon Clarence Lueck, age 82 of Kingston, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, March 11, 2021, following a battle with kidney disease. Jon was born on October 2, 1938, son of Clarence “Tillie” and Edna “Peg” (Bender) Lueck. Jon was born on opening weekend of duck hunting, in Kingston. He was baptized on November 27, 1938, at Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston and confirmed on June 1, 1952, at St John’s Lutheran Church in Salemville. Jon graduated from Markesan High School, class of 1957, and enlisted in the Air Nation Guard and the Reserve of the United States Air Force in 1957. He played on the 1957 State Baseball team coached by brother-in-law, Don Reif. Jon was united in marriage to Betty Luethe on July 25, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Markesan. He enjoyed his grand and great grandchildren, especially watching his great granddaughter horseback riding and grandsons play baseball. He was able to attend Fox Cities Stadium to watch his grandsons Landon and Bryce win the 2019 Division 3 WIAA State Runner-up. He owned Lueck Oil Company in Kingston for a number of years and operated The Corner gas station in Markesan. In his later years, he enjoyed helping the Amish with deliveries and transportation. Jon was a founding member of the Badger Horse Show Association in 1970 and had a lifelong love for horses. He was a charter member of the Kingston Lions Club, Kingston Fire Department and Kingston Business Association. Jon was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston and served on the church council. Jon is survived by his wife, Betty Lueck of 61 years; two daughters, Nola (Rich) Siewert of Dalton and Jill (Bernie) Leedle of Markesan; three grandchildren, Pernell (Jill) Jahnke, Landon and Bryce Leedle; two great grandchildren, Cayden and Kaylee Jahnke; sister, Lita Reif; brother-in-law, Gale Bender; sister-in-law, Joan Ehrenberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert in infancy; brother, Wayne Lueck; sons-in-law, Jerry Burckhardt and fiancé, Jeff Panten; parents-in-law, Noel and Agnes Luethe; three sisters-in-law, Kay Lueck, Barb Bender and Louise Luethe; three brothers-in-law, Don Reif, Roy Ehrenberg and Russ Luethe; nephew, Timm Bender. Visitation for Jon will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church, 316 Vine Street, Kingston. A memorial service will follow on Monday at 2:00 P.M. at church with Rev. Kurt Hagen officiating. Burial will take place at Kingston Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Duwane “Sonny” Walker American Legion Post 395 Kingston.

DONALD WALKER

Donald L. Walker, 82, of Kingston, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Pleasant Park Place in Ripon.  He was born September 30, 1938 to Melvin and Helen Walker at his home in Kingston.  He graduated from Markesan High School, the class of 1957.  Don was baptized in the United Methodist Church in Kingston.  He became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Montello, later transferring to Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston. Don served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963, being discharged just after the Cuban Missile Crisis ended. He married Jo Ellen Stollfus January 30, 1965 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montello.  Later he married Karla Walker April 2, 1977 at North Scott Baptist Church in Pardeeville.Don drove semi over the road for Fred Stollfus and worked several years for Pro-Type Builders erecting steel buildings.  He also drove semi for Zinke Dray Line in Portage, Robert Kamrath of Pardeeville and helped on his in-laws family farm.  He worked for Alsum Farms and Produce, Inc. for 27 years driving semi, finding that job most rewarding. He enjoyed driving his semis and taking his kids for rides with him. Don loved and was proud of his children and grandchildren.  He was a great dad and grandfather.  He enjoyed raising corn and pigs on his property outside Kingston, he attended the Oshkosh Air Show as a member of the EAA for many years, he was an avid reader of history, ships, and airplanes.  He made many trips to visit relatives in Valley City, ND to Virginia to visit his son Trevor, to California to visit relatives, to Florida to visit his in-laws and was able to travel to Lake Stevens, WA to visit his navy friend Bill a couple times.  Don is survived by his children Paul (Diane) Walker of Montello, Trevor (Inna) Walker of Chesapeake, VA, Tony (Nicole) Walker of Pardeeville, Philip Walker of Pardeeville, and Marnie Thome of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren Brooke, Marshall, Alyssa, Mila, Ashlynn, and Oliver Walker, Madeline Thome, and Zane Parchem; his brother James (Roberta) Walker of Kingston, sisters Barbara (Gordon) Luedtke of Janesville, Lorraine Steffen of Markesan and Beverly (Lynn) Whitehouse of Markesan, one Uncle Fred Walker of Fond du Lac, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents and one son Scott. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 23 at 2 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston following Covid-19 guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing with Rev. Kurt Hagen officiating.  Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until the time of service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Kingston Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Grasse Funeral Home, Pleasant Park Place, and St. Croix Hospice for all the personal attention, love and care given to Don and his family.

RALPH PLAGENZ

Ralph W. Plagenz, age 84 of Dalton, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Ralph was born at home on May 7, 1936 in Kingston Township, the son of Raymond and Neva (Greenleaf) Plagenz. After graduation from Markesan High School, Ralph proudly served his country in the UnitedStates Army during the Korean War. On June 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Hope Ann Haima inDalton. Ralph was a very active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kingston, where he sang in the church choir since seventh grade. A lifelong farmer, Ralph also enjoyed harvesting from God’s bounty through gardening, hunting, and fishing. Ralph was a member of Kingston Legion Post and sang in the Kiwanis annual show for many years. Ralph’s hobbies included couples bowling and dartball for many years, playing baseball and softball, playing cards, watching Western movies, and traveling, especially out West. Ralph had a wonderful sense of humor and cherished the time he spent with his family, always being sure to attend all of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and life events. Ralph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hope Plagenz of Dalton; children, Rory W. (Jackie) Plagenz of Dalton, Melanie (Rick) Grahn of Markesan and Mark (Danielle) Plagenz of Dalton; grandchildren, Jessica (Chad) Schonasky, Julie (Cory) Roth, Brittany (Kris Meier) Plagenz, CJ Grahn, Kiah (Mitch Sommers) Grahn, Logan Grahn, Denton Plagenz, Bryce Plagenz and Cayden Plagenz; great-grandchildren, Keagan West, Trevin West, Samarah Schonasky, Brayden Schonasky, Ryker Sullivan, RaeAnn Sommers; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Pearl Plagenz of Green Bay; sister, Linda Woelffer of Randolph; sister-in-law, Naomi Hilger of Markesan; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Iolyn Plagenz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Woelffer, Wilton Hilger, Allen and June Biesenthal, Wayne and Pat Haima; and other relatives.
